Double case in finely engraved and blue enamelled yellow gold (49 mm, 38 g), movement with pierced balance cock signed Périgal London 1787. A rare and precious piece, an exceptional witness of 18th-century English watchmaking, in perfect working order.

Francis Perigal was an influential London watchmaker of the 18th century, both Master of the Guild, Watchmaker to the Royal Court, and a member of a renowned dynasty of horologists. His repeater watches are celebrated for their aesthetic and mechanical refinement, with several preserved today in the prestigious collections of the Metropolitan Museum. One of his lever watches is regarded as one of the very few surviving examples, underlining his importance in the history of watchmaking.
