Lémania monopusher 1915

Lemania monopusher (1915) – Restoration of an early wrist chronograph

This Lemania monopusher chronograph from 1915 is far more than a watch — it is a rare witness to the transition between pocket horology and the modern wristwatch.

Its solid silver 800 case houses a beautiful white enamel dial, adorned with black Arabic numerals and a fine red minute track. A composition of striking simplicity, where legibility meets timeless elegance — the hallmark of the earliest chronographs ever worn on the wrist.

Inside, the movement reveals the full mastery of Lemania, then one of the pioneers of Swiss chronograph manufacture. The calibre’s architecture stands out for its unique construction — particularly the distinctive shape of the wheel-train and barrel bridge, a true signature of the brand’s early engineering style.

Measuring 36 mm in diameter, this movement is among the oldest wrist chronographs ever restored at the Clinique Horlogère. The restoration was carried out with the utmost care, bringing the mechanism back to life while preserving its patina, original components and authentic rhythm.

A pioneering piece, it embodies a turning point in watchmaking history — the moment when scientific precision, once reserved for measuring instruments, finally found its place on the wrist.
A fragment of history, where every detail tells the story of the birth of the modern chronograph.
