This Heuer Autavia Viceroy underwent a full restoration at the Clinique Horlogère. The Calibre 12 was completely disassembled, cleaned, inspected and regulated to period-correct performance.

The case was fully taken apart and cleaned; gaskets were replaced; pushers were checked, lubricated and pressure-tested to ensure crisp operation and functional sealing. All original character and patina were preserved — faithful to the watch’s history.

Inside beats the legendary Calibre 12 — an automatic micro-rotor movement born from collaboration between Hamilton-Büren (base) and Dubois-Dépraz (chronograph module). Evolving from the 1969 Calibre 11, it’s instantly recognizable for its crown at 9 o’clock and modular construction, a landmark of 1970s watchmaking.

In 1972, US ads featured Viceroy Racing Team drivers — notably Parnelli Jones and Al Unser — with an Autavia on the wrist. The pitch was striking: send a coupon from a Viceroy cigarette pack and buy an Autavia for $88 instead of $200. Controversial yet effective, the campaign sealed the Autavia’s place in American car-culture lore.
